Asian Barbie Doll

To be honest, I'm not really a fan of Barbie, but...

Who knew that Barbie had an Asian friend named Kira? 

According to Wikipedia, Kira was introduced in 1990.  I guess I completely missed this fact because I was already in college by that time.

I have to admit though, this Asian doll looks pretty glamorous here in her little black dress.

finally, the barbie line is a bit more diverse. all this time, i thought only blond blue barbies are appreciated; black and latin dolls are merely made to appease the "minority" races to pretend to embrace the differences. it's nice to see a barbie that passes for an asian for once
