Celebrate Asian American Heritage Month in Chicago's Chinatown on May 5

The Malaysian Club of Chicago (MCC) will be hosting a free Asian Cultural show to celebrate Asian American Heritage Month and Chinatown's 100th Birthday on Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Chicago's Chinatown Square. 

Many Asian associations and museums will offer crafts, face painting, balloon artistry, mask making, henna, Thai fruit carving, and more.  See a Chinese Lion Dance, Malaysian Kompang, Indian Bollywood, Filipino Tinikling, and Punjabi Bangra.  A raffle of Apple products (iPads & iPods) will be available.

Sounds like a great event! Growing up in Manila, learning the Tinikling dance was always a challenge but a lot of fun.
