Chinese jump rope

When I was a kid, we used to play Chinese jump rope on the playground at school.  It's great exercise & a lot of fun!

This Chinese Jump Rope set by Klutz comes with 2 Chinese jump ropes and a spiral-bound book that explains how to play.  There are step-by-step instructions for 9 different games.  A great gift idea for a school-aged girl.

1st of all, thanks Asianmommy for continuing to come to BB even though I haven't been able to visit you for a while now.2ndly, THANK YOU SO MUCH for this post, I didn't know what this game was called in English. We played chinese jump rope EVERYDAY when I was younger, we even had neighborhood tournaments. I practiced by myself at home by placing the elastic around 2 chairs and jumping. Some girls played this soo much, their kidneys hurt! But I will definitely teach my daughter this, it's just so much fun!

I've never played Chinese jump rope :) It sounds fun though! I will have to read more about it and check out this book.

Oh, the memories

I used to play Chinese jump rope too. I totally forgot about it. Thanks for the memory.

My favorite

OMG, I loved Chinese jump rope when I was young! My friends and I would play at recess and lunch then I'd go home and force my mom to play with me or use some chairs when she refused. I don't remember all the different tricks but I need to get this one to relive my youth!

Isn't it sad how many little girls nowadays doesn't know how to jump rope? During our childhood, that's all we ever do, besides playing marbles with the boys and climbing trees.

Loved it!

Oh yeah - used to play that when I was a kid. We would loop it around our neck like a necklace when not playing w/ it. I also played Chinese jacks, did you ever play with them? It was all about getting the pretty color combos.

my asian heritage
