The Rice Babies at etsy.com is giving away an adorable custom-made Asian doll!

The Rice Babies was started by Kellie Diguangco, a mom of two, who teaches at an art school for children. She discovered that there was a need for more Asian dolls, and she decided to make them herself. Kellie believes that every little girl (& big girl, too) deserves to have a doll that looks just like her.

These dolls are adorable! I showed them to my daughters and I almost didn't make it back here to leave a comment. They wanted to see everything. lol! I liked Grace (of course) the half Filipina half Dutch doll even though she looks a little sad. :)

The dolls are adorable, but I love that crown. Despite my best efforts, my boys don't really play with dolls.

Is it bad that I want the doll for me? I would have loved to have had a doll I could play with that looked like me as a child. Not dressed in a kimono or cheongsam, either, just a little girl doll wearing every day clothes that happened to be Asian or half Asian like me.
