Having a Chinese New Year Party

Tuesday, January 22, 2013

Pier 1 Imports has some nice suggestions for having a Chinese New Year Party.  Check out their website at Pier1Imports.com.

The Year of the Snake begins on February 10, 2013.  First, clean house, sweeping away bad energy.  Next, decorate with lucky red and lots of flowers.  Then, serve yummy whole fish, noodles, dumplings, and oranges.  Lastly, celebrate with fireworks at midnight.

I love their suggestion of fun rubber snakes, gummy snakes, and snake-shaped cakes, cookies, and more!  And don't forget to pass out red envelopes for the kids!

I'm looking forward to all the good food!

Hi, funny that I just went

Hi, funny that I just went over all this in my Chinese class last Sunday! Will be covering more CNY topics until our school CNY performance. Definitely red envelopes for the kids, and lots of yummy for us!

Hi Sandra,

Honestly, I don't really do any special cleaning or decorating. We usually just spend time with family, eat delicious Chinese food, and pass out red envelopes.
