Dearborn Observatory
Visited Northwestern University's
Dearborn Observatory a couple weeks ago. Their telescope, built in 1862, is open to the public for free viewing every Friday night.
It's best to make a reservation from 9-10 pm. They take walk-ins as space allows from 10-11 pm.
The night we went, it was cloudy, so we didn't get to see the stars. The sky cleared for a minute, so we did get to see the surface of the moon--pretty cool! We'll definitely be back.
