bonsai treeCheck out the Asian Celebration at Chicago's Morton Arboretum on July 26 & 27, 2008.

The celebration will feature:

A guided nature walk to the Arboretum's Japan Collection

The tiny living trees of the Prairie State Bonsai Society's exhibit

Japanese drumming and storytelling

A Japanese tea ceremony

Filipino stick dancing

Chinese instruments

Ikebana flower arrangements

A free yoga class

A lively game of cricket

Asian-inspired food available for purchase

For kids:   origami animals, carp kites, rock gardens, and Japanese flower arranging in the Children's Garden.

You may also purchase tickets for an evening chamber concert featuring the Japanese koto: East Meets West: An Evening of Musical Inspiration from Japan, on July 26, 2008.
