EC is now a full-time mom of 3 boys: ages 3½ years, 16 months, and 1 month. She lives in San Francisco and chose to stay at home because she wants to spend as much time as possible with her boys. She has not yet worked out a routine, but naps, meals, and quality one-on-one time with mommy are daily priorities. A conventional bedtime routine for the 2 older boys, including a bath and reading books, is practiced nightly. Late night is usually quiet enough for EC and her husband to watch a DVD. If it’s a bad movie, she multitasks and goes online or does housework at the same time.
To teach her kids about their culture, EC encourages the grandparents to speak Chinese with them; and the kids are frequently exposed to Chinese cuisine and Asian friends. She also started Tivo-ing "Ni Hao, Kai-Lan". She hopes her whole family can have a nice vacation in Taiwan soon.
For fun, other than watching, hugging, kissing, holding, and playing with the kids, EC and her husband still like to watch movies and play cards. They went through a phase of nightly Sudoku puzzles, which ended with the birth of their third baby. Two months ago, she joined a green mommy book club, which meets monthly. Composing scrapbooks from genuine scraps and mementos for her boys is one of many things on her fun, wishful to-do list.
