Mommy Profile: LM
LM was an internist living in Chicago when she became a mommy. She had liked to work out and participate in sports and outdoor activities.
About a year ago, LM stopped practicing medicine so that she could spend more time with her children and her aging parents. Also, so that their lives would not be so chaotic, such as being paged when giving the kids a bath or putting them to bed. In fact, one of her son's first words was "pager". LM is currently at a part-time desk job that has some flexibility and allows her to keep up-to-date in her field for when there is a right time to return to her practice.
LM now lives in the northern suburbs of Chicago with her husband and 2 kids, ages 6 and 3. Her daily routine consists of getting the kids to school, going to work or running errands, picking up the kids, helping with homework, preparing dinner, getting the kids ready for bed, and then watching a movie or surfing on the internet, if there's any time left.
To save money, LM's family cooks most of their own meals and packs their own lunches. Also, LM's family acquires second-hand clothes and buys clothes on sale. To make her life easier, she has a cleaning service come once a month.
To teach her children about their heritage, LM's family goes to Chinatown a lot with her in-laws, and they are thinking of starting
Mandarin classes for the kids soon.
For fun, LM enjoys getting together with friends and family. She also likes to participate in internet forums with similar interest groups. She's not sure exactly what it is that she does just for herself. That's a tough question for her, as she's a workaholic, and often feels that everyone else comes first. However, she is starting to pay more attention to her skincare--now that she's not getting any younger. Sounds like it's time for a relaxing spa day, LM!

Miraval
My sister-in-law loves Miraval and goes once a year to pamper herself.
Thanks for your comments!
Hi Asianmommy! I just wanted to say hi and thanks for your kind comments on my blogsite. I know what you mean about taking care of yourself. One day I woke up and realized that I actually looked my age which is a crime for an asian woman. So I started with the anti-aging creams and potions. It is helping I think. I got carded a few times and young men hit on me every now and then. Though maybe they think I am a cougar? :eekThanks again!
Ugh!
Where have the years gone? I too am forced to use all the lotions and creams. I never cared when I was young, and all of a sudden I have to!

That's so true. For me the most striking sign is my gray hairs that pop up everywhere. Where do they come from? I never color my hair myself but I think it's time for me to learn!-Amy @ The Q Family
Ooh--maybe I need to start...
Maybe I should start using some of those lotions and creams. Which ones do you like?

Sounds like LM has a rather nice balance :) I could pay more attention to my skincare as well.

This is too true...we (moms) always seem to put ourselves last. We definitely need to take care of our FACE especially because with workout your body can look in its twenties from behind. And when you turn around, you don't want your face to look 50. OH NO, this is what I saw the other day and it ain't pretty!
Me-time
Yes LM, time to have some ME-time!(but don't all mothers experience the same thing?)
