Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa
Have you seen the movie "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa"? It's rated PG and is a fun movie for grade school kids. Our 6-year-old was very excited to go see it, but our 4-year-old...not so much.
In this movie, we see Alex the lion as a little cub in Africa, when he was playing with his father, was adbucted, and somehow ended up in New York. There, his artistic talents gave him much fame. When he and his friends from the zoo crash land in Africa, they find out that life is very different there.
Alex is not much of a star amongst the other lions. Marty the zebra finds out he's not so unique when surrounded by a field of zebras, and Melman the giraffe continues to pine for Gloria the hippo, while she has another love interest. The penguins are as funny as ever.
This is a fun, feel-good movie, although some parents might object to some of the romantic references and some of the violence (shot guns and fist fights involving Nana, a little old lady who's pretty tough!).

We really wanted to see this in the theaters, but alas, waited too long. We're waiting for it to come out on video as well. I think my daughter would love it!
