Our Trip to Hershey, PA
Our trip to Hershey, PA included a stop at Hershey's Chocolate World, where we took the Great American Chocolate Tour Ride. This free tram ride shows you videos and simulations of chocolate being made from cocoa beans to chocolate bars. You also get a free sample to taste.
We went to the Chocolate Tasting Adventure, which lets you taste the difference between milk chocolate, dark chocolate, artisan chocolate, Bliss, and more. The kids got an opportunity to package Hershey's Kisses and put them on a conveyor belt. You can also see a 3-D movie, go on a trolley tour through town, or create your own candy bar.
Then, we went to The Hershey Story Museum, where they showcase the life of Milton S. Hershey, how he got his start in candy-making, and how he switched to chocolate-making. The kids did the Maya Chocolate Adventure. They got to see examples of cacao beans, grind them, froth them, decode a hieroglyph, and sample some more chocolate.
We enjoyed our time at Hershey Gardens. There were beautiful flowers and a lovely butterfly garden, where we got to identify the butterflies and see them coming out of their cocoons. The kids had a great time there!
