Sewing Classes at Joann
My older daughter got a sewing machine for her birthday when she turned 10 and has been taking sewing classes at Joann this past year.
Today, she made a pair of pajama pants. How cute!
The classes and materials add up in cost, but they often have 50% off coupons, which we can take advantage of. Someday, I hope she'll find it useful to know how to sew.
To sign up for classes, visit Joann.

Good job!
They both did a good job! It's a useful skill to have, for sure!
Hi SoKnitpicky,
That's true--they would save a lot of money in hemming alone!
Very nice. Good job to your
Very nice. Good job to your daughter. Nothing beats handmade items huh?
Hi Mommy to Chumsy,
Thanks--she really enjoyed picking out her own fabric. It's nice to be able to customize what you make.
Wonderful skill
My mother always sewed our clothes when I was a small child, and I learned to sew before age 8... it is something that served me well all my childhood (I created dolls, stuffies and doll clothes out of fabric scraps) as well as adulthood (I've crafted my own costumes, dresses, all manner of gifts, and even been paid to sew for others)... it really is a wonderfully practical skill to have. Good for your daughters!
Hi wenjonggal,
Thanks, I hope someday they'll be able to do just that!
