Famous Violinist Joshua Bell Plays at the DC Metro Station

Friday, February 18, 2011

World-famous violinist Joshua Bell plays classical masterpieces on his Stradivarius at the DC Metro's L'Enfant Plaza Station during morning rush hour for 43 minutes, with a few bucks thrown in his open violin case.  Out of the 1097 people passing by, how many do you think stopped to listen?  The Washington Post decided to find out.  The answer was only 7.  I'd like to think that I would've listened.  What about you?

Joshua Bell muscian/ time

I somehow came upon this post of Joshua Bell. He also has played many other great master pieces. It just shows that when people hurry and not notice they fail to notice and appreciate the real beauty and talent when consumed by money and time.

Hi Shannon,

I agree--it's a shame that we can't take a moment to enjoy some beautiful music.
