Starting the 30 Day Shred

I’ve been hearing about Shredheads from fellow bloggers for the past several months.  Kristen Chase of Motherhood Uncensored had started a Shredheads blog giving readers advice on losing weight & getting into shape.  She recommends eating healthy & doing the 30 Day Shred with Jillian Michaels, trainer for “The Biggest Loser.”

Just recently, I was reading on Pop Discourse, by Christine Koh, that the 30 Day Shred workouts are available on Comcast On Demand.  Hey!  I have that.  & I realized that I’m already paying for these workouts, & I'd better start doing them.

So, last week I did the 30 Day Shred 20-minute Level 1 Workout using the 3-2-1 Strength/Cardio/Ab training circuit:  3 min strength, 2 min cardio, & 1 min ab work.  It’s mostly basic moves that everyone can do—jumping jacks, lunges, jumping rope, stomach crunches, biceps curls, push-ups, etc.  There’s really no choreography to learn or any worry about starting out on the wrong foot or being half a beat behind everyone else.  The music could be more interesting, & the moves could be more exciting, but it’s over in 20 minutes, and it’s a good, solid workout.  Definitely something you could manage to squeeze into your daily routine and expect to get results.  I'm a little sore today--but I'll keep you posted on my progress.

I've heard about this video before so I'm interested in how you like it.  Keep us posted!  I'm tempted to try it but have enough self awareness to know that I would rarely do it.  I like going to the gym and doing cardio because I can drop E off at the daycare there.  It's like a mini-vacation because I read a book while I work out.

That's wonderful! I also discovered they were on Demand as well several months ago. Before we switched our cable :( So we don't get them anymore.

I'm a 13 year old girl who is obese and sick of it. I was wondering if any one has a good work out that can help lose weight and fast.

Please help, I hate that I'm the only fat friend of all my friends.
